Famous Love Quotes Over Time

By: Alesandrei Fillinine

Love has been a human constant from the beginning of our time on this world. With that in mind, looking back in time for sage bits of advice can result in a bountiful find.

Who knows love? Everyone does. Either by its absence or presence. Just like you and me, many philosophers, scientists and, well, everyone has philosophized on it at one point or another. Here are the views of some well-known historical figures that may ring true to you.

Albert Einstein - How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?

Lord Byron - Hearts will break - yet brokenly, live on.

Elizabeth Ashley - In a great romance, each person plays a part the other really likes.

Albert Camus - I know of only one duty, and that is to love.

Jonathan Carroll - You have to walk carefully in the beginning of love; the running across fields into your lover's arms can only come later when you're sure they won't laugh if you trip.

Ayn Rand - If one doesn't respect oneself one can have neither love nor respect for others.

Richard Bach - Can miles truly separate you from friends... If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?

Winnie the Pooh - If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.

G. Moore - Other men have seen angels, But I have seen thee, And thou art enough.

Jeanne Moreau - Age does not protect you from love, but love to some extent protects you from age.

Leo Buscaglia - Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.

Montaigne - If I am pressed to say why I loved him, I feel it can only be explained by replying: "Because it was he; because it was me."

Socrates - The hottest love has the coldest end.

Alfred Lord Tennyson - Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Rabindranath Tagore - I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times, in life after life, in age after age forever.

Buddha - You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

G. K. Chesterton - The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.

As you can see, love is a concept that crosses all lines whether they be nations, areas of belief and even jobs. Love is out there. You just need to go give it a chance.
